A community service organization of high school girls dedicated to enriching youth arts programs in Miami-Dade County.

Our Mission
Symphonettes strives to empower organizations devoted to providing opportunities for youths to artistically express themselves. We gravitate towards involving ourselves with organizations that create a safe space for children while enabling them to explore their artistic abilities that would remain uncultivated otherwise. Internally, we seek to instill a love for outreach in our members and create a supportive community for them to be a part of.

Founded in 1966 |
Community |
We are a service club composed of about 100 high school girls focused on promoting the arts in Miami-Dade County. Members serve community service shifts, usher at concerts, and host fundraisers throughout the year. We are a charitable IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization through the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
Our ValuesAs a club of young women, we seek to prepare our members for future endeavors by empowering them through leadership roles. By taking on responsibilities that most young women do not have the opportunity to, our members learn to appreciate the importance of core values such as empathy, diligence, and integrity.
|
Aside from our fundraising events, meetings are held throughout the year to bring our members together. We kick off our year with a Mother Daughter Tea. Following that, we hold events such as our Big/Little Sister Meeting, Father Daughter Picnic, and the End of Year Meeting. In these meetings, our members are able to form life-long bonds and embrace the values we hold so dear.
Our SocialsFollow us on instagram @symphonettesmiami! We post updates on fundraising events, details of our beneficiaries, and the amazing accomplishments of our members!

Recent Past Presidents
Helen Hannan was president for the 2020 to 2021 year. Helen attended Ransom Everglades School and is now a sophomore at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Under her leadership, Symphonettes had a very successful year in spite of holding monthly meetings and other events virtually. The Symphonettes were able to host in person their annual garage sale keeping socially distant and requiring masks, as well as having a silent auction and brunch to honor the seniors. Due to the pandemic and restrictions for enclosed spaces, the Symphonettes replaced their ushering duties and community service events with collections and drives of art supplies to distribute to organizations in need in the community.

Meredith Hutchinson, our president from 2019 to 2020, graduated from Ransom Everglades School. Meredith is now a junior at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Rachel Seipp was our president from 2018 to 2019. She graduated from Ransom Everglades School and is now a senior at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. |
